and that precisely describes the advantages of the SC-MERCATOR CAT.5 EXTEND. With the simple construction and the consistent length of layers the difference in runtime is minute when compared to individual wire pairs. This characteristic is commonly known as SKEW DELAY-FREE. So, this cable is predestined for extender technology, especially for video- and KVM-extenders. One CAT.5-wire each symmetrically transmits the individual VGA-signal colors red, green, and blue. Differences in runtime between the wire pairs result in a timely displaced transmission of individual color signals, consequently falsifying the rendition of the entire signal. The results are resulant color shifts and colored edges. The 4th wire pair transmits SYNC-, keyboard, and mouse signals, the same as with professional KVM-extenders RS232, USB, and audio-signal (analog or digital, depending on the manufacturer). Our SC-MERCATOR CAT.5 EXTEND does not have any shielding, because unshielded cables provide the best possible image results for this application. Shielded cables have a more negative effect on the signal quality. We deliver the reasonably priced PVC-version as well as the robust installation version with a special halogen-free FRNC-jacket (in compliance with Test Type C accord. to IEC332-1).
